Rules for the TCATGR

Membership
1 -- Membership at the TCATGR is open to all, provided that potential members (1) reply to the 'On Pending Sub' file or are persons who I know already and (2) are not banned belligerents.

Posts
2 -- Only Thundercats related posts are allowed. Keep all off topics to a minimum, labeled OT in the subject line. Absolutely no spam and god help you if you post chain letters. Otherwise you can post what ever you want: questions, answers, discussions, fictions, artworks, new sites or site up-dates, etc., etc.

Activities
3 -- As for games, you can have quizzes, polls, top tens and stuff like that but you and you alone as the organizer of those games are responsible for them. The same goes for anyone who wants to make a site for this list.

Note on the subject of chatrooms
4 -- If you insist on having a chatroom then you must follow these guidelines:
A. It must be open to all club members.
B. You, as the operator of the chatroom, are not allowed to kick out members
(unless you can prove that it was an act of absolute last resort) or ban members
outright. The abuse of your powers as an operator may result in your being
banned from this list. (See #5)
C. A complete and unabridged log of the chat must be posted here. (With
subject line CHAT: (room name, location, date and time)

Procedure to ban list members
5 -- If to your knowledge a list member has: threatened other list members, plagiarized, excessively abused the list rules, abused his power as a channel operator or has done anything else that in your opinion is an impeachable offence then you must follow this procedure:
A. On this list post a message with the following subject line: ATTN: RFL (date and
time).
B. In the body of the post make your case against the defendant(s), give facts
and cite credible evidence (not hearsay, rumor or innuendo) to prove your case
and remember that since this will be out in the open it will be subject to intense
scrutiny.
C. The defendant(s) has the right to refute the accusations by replying to the
original accusatory post. Failure to respond will not be construed as guilt.
D. In the next seven days other list members will read and post (by replying to the
original accusatory post), voting one of three ways: For, Against or No-Opinion.
For, to remove the defendant(s); Against, if you think the defendant(s) is not guilty;
or No-Opinion, if you have only an opinion to give. You can vote more than once
but only the last one will count. You can give more evidence when you vote or
explain why you are voting this way.
E. Any messages sent directly to me privately on the matter can and will either be
ignored or posted publicly on the list. At the end of the seven days I will render
my verdict and a short explanation. If not enough people vote, or if I do not
agree with the results of the vote I will reach my own verdict. Otherwise the
verdict will be administered by majority rule.

Procedure to Amend Rules
6 -- The procedure to add or remove or amend rules will follow that outlined in #5 using the subject heading ATTN: PROP (date and time). (i.e.: a vote with majority rule at my discretion.)

**IMPORTANT** AS A NEW MEMBER YOU MUST READ THIS STATEMENT!!!
The Fianna CAUTION: As a member of the TCATGR, you might find yourself written into stories in which you will: suffer abuse, be the butt of jokes or be used in awkward and embarrassing situations -- or any combination of the above items or other things too horrid to list here. Consider yourself warned!

On Pending Sub
In an effort to cut down on mysterious lurkers, I've instituted this simple
procedure for processing new members. People who wish to join whom I don't
immediately recognize or whom I haven't invited must reply to this email by
sending me (rdrivero@msn.com) an email that describes who you are and how you
came to learn about this club. This is just useful info and could include
things you might want to share with the group later.

**NOTE: Responding to this email does not necessarily mean that you'll be accepted.**

On Rejected Sub
If you get this email, it can mean one of two things:

1. You didn't reply to the email "On Pending Sub". Typically, I give newbies
plenty of time to respond to the request but I do have a cut off date.

or

2. You are someone who I identified as a past, belligerent member. Usually,
such members get banned, so it's highly unlikely that #2 applies, but every so
often trolls of this ilk return assuming different personas and screen names.

As long as you don't fit into the case of #2, it is possible to become a member
by trying again and responding to "On Pending Sub".
